denmark | the serenity group by maibritt olsen

I lived in Denmark the first 34 years of my life. This beautiful little fairytale Kingdom where the Winters are long and the Summers are short. Sometimes Summers are cold and rainy, or sometimes warm and sunny. But I always get this special feeling in my stomach, when I go back to visit in the Summer. Something about Danish Summer just gets to me and makes me feel all giddy and like a little girl again.

Now that I live in the South, I can not have the same flowers in my garden outside my house. I miss those flowers - I am definitely more a rose garden type of girl as opposed to a tropic garden kinda girl… so I soak up every little bit of details, when I am visiting my childhood country.

Now move on over to the amazing Nancy Armstrong, Kansas City Photographer and see what brings her serenity. Remember to leave a little love while you are there.

happiness | the serenity group by maibritt olsen

Happiness is fresh flowers…

I so enjoy having fresh flowers my house. They make me happy and giggly and of course I love to capture them with my camera.
I was thrilled, when I saw that the Ranuculus was here. I love capturing all their layers. They are just so amazingly beautiful.

What brings you happiness?

serenity | my zen | june 2017 by maibritt olsen

serenity
noun, plural serenities.
1. the state or quality of being serene, calm, or tranquil; sereneness.

To me that means getting out my camera and getting in that Zen mode. You know the place... where you forget time and space and starting being - northing else. Photography does that to me. Not only capturing my own art - but also getting lost in other photographer's work. (I have a few photographers, whose work, I absolutely adore. Blog post coming about that later).

I just love that feeling of just being. Absolutely paused in that moment - not dwelling on the past or worried about the future - just right here, right now. Photography gives me that.

What is your zen? What brings you serenity?

I bout this different lilies Friday afternoon. I was instantly attracted to their curves and ruffles. I captured them different days over the weekend to watch them unfold. I am involve with these lilies.

Edited with a texture from Jessica Drossin using Topaz Texture Effects 2.

And then one in black and white...

Now make sure to go and visit The Rusty Lens to find her serenity and soak up some.
